POKOTABI / Hareruya
晴天屋(はれるや)
Located in Yahiro, Sumida, the izakaya Hareruya (晴天屋) pairs tabletop teppan monjayaki and sizzling ajillo skillets with affordable small plates, Hoppy, and shochu.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Equipped with built-in teppan griddles at each table, Hareruya (晴天屋) offers a relaxed setting where you can sip a drink as fragrant steam drifts up directly before you. The house monjayaki reflects an easygoing downtown spirit, featuring approachable choices like guru-guru monja alongside playful variations like dagashi monja. For a cold dish, ordering the monja salad—a favorite among regular diners—is another distinctive choice unique to the restaurant.
Offered in affordable small-plate portions, the teppan and small-skillet dishes let you build a meal to your liking, from beef, mushroom, or oyster ajillo paired with baguette to griddled grated yam (tororo teppanyaki) and foil-baked bites. For more substantial cravings, hearty meat dishes such as savory yakisoba, 10 beef steak, and slow-simmered pork kakuni or beef tendon stew provide satisfying support.
Drinks range from standard draft beer and Hoppy sets—where shochu base and mixer can be ordered separately—to a generous lineup of shochu labels including Kuro Kirishima, Mitake, and Kicchomu. The shop works equally well for a quiet solo drink at the calm counter while watching the teppan at work or for groups gathering around the griddle to share food, and payments via PayPay and Rakuten Pay are accepted.
